A faith-rooted, nonpartisan civic engagement campaign from Love in Action Social Justice Ministry, Inc., organized around the 2026 midterm elections and the year-round work that follows.
Love Shows Up™ is a faith-rooted, nonpartisan civic engagement campaign that organizes the Black church to mobilize voters in 2026 and sustain civic participation between elections.
Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest? He said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Jesus said the whole law and the prophets hang on two commandments: love God, love neighbor. They are inseparable. To love God without acting for the good of our neighbor empties the first commandment. To act for our neighbor without rootedness in God empties the second. Both are required. Both are inseparable.
Voting is one of the most accessible, structural ways we love our neighbor in twenty-first-century American civic life. The ballot is not the whole of love. But the ballot is one of love's most available tools.
The first commandment lived in community. Loving God is not a solo act. We love together as a body, gathered in pews, fellowship halls, and the streets.
The second commandment given a ballot. Voting is one of the most accessible expressions of our body's love in public life. We vote together because the ballot is a tool of communal love, not individual transaction.
The discipleship that begins on November 4. The Great Commandment is not a one-time act. We stay together because love is the long obedience.
