Love Shows Up™ is the civic engagement campaign of Love in Action Social Justice Ministry, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The campaign is nonpartisan by design. Every document, training, and tactic in the campaign has been built to comply with IRS guidance on permitted civic engagement activity by tax-exempt religious and charitable organizations.

What This Campaign Supports

• Encouraging all members to register, plan, and vote
• Educating voters on the offices, candidates, and ballot questions in front of them
• Hosting candidate forums when all qualified candidates are invited on equal terms
• Organizing nonpartisan get-out-the-vote activity, including rides to the polls
• Year-round civic engagement and community accountability work

What This Campaign Does Not Do

• Endorse any candidate or political party
• Take a position on contested ballot measures unless paired with explicit nonpartisan educational framing
• Coordinate with any campaign organization or candidate committee
• Use church resources to support or oppose a specific candidate

For Partner Congregations

Every partner congregation operates within its own denominational, fiduciary, and tax-exempt structures. Love in Action provides general guidance on nonpartisan civic engagement, but each congregation is responsible for confirming its own compliance posture with its own legal counsel, denominational body, and accountant.

If a specific situation falls into a gray area — a candidate visit, a controversial measure on your local ballot, a partisan congregant requesting use of church space — pause and reach out to Love in Action. We will help you think it through.
